What oil should I use in my vacuum pump?

For rotary piston pumps in the Stokes Microvac family and compatible GLV models, we recommend GLV V-Lube F vacuum pump oil — the oil we use in every rebuild and test cycle in our own shop. Using the right oil matters: the wrong viscosity or additive package can cause premature seal wear, poor ultimate vacuum, or oil breakdown in high-temperature applications. Our catalog also carries diffusion pump fluids and specialty oils for other pump types.
